Individual DNA Profile Testing
Each individual (person) has a unique DNA pattern between one to another. By carrying out an individual DNA profile testing, your STR DNA profile can be identified. The DNA profile result could be kept and used in the future emergencies or for legal purposes. This service is recommended for those who have high-risk professions.

What is individual DNA profile testing?
Every individual has a DNA fingerprint that cannot be changed, unlike Face or fingerprints that can be changed through facial surgery or fingerprint surgery. We carried out a DNA examination using Short Tandem Repeat (STR) markers. Genos Laboratory will provide a DNA result containing a 26 STR profile that can be kept privately or by your personal attorney as your personal DNA Identification. All DNA examinations at the Genos Laboratory are confidential.
F.A.Q.
Generally, the sample used is blood. Blood samples are taken from the vein using a sterile syringe needle with volume less than 1 mL or from the fingertip pricked with a sterile needle (finger prick). Another sample option can be used is buccal swabs collected by gently swabbing the inside of the cheek with a cotton swab. The type of sample does not affect the DNA test results.
Fasting from food and beverage is not necessary
- Personal identification card (ID card/Passport) Birth certificate is needed for individuals under 17 years old
- Individuals under 21 years old must be accompanied by a Legal guardian
- Recent colored photo size 3x4 cm
- No referral letter from a doctor is required
This test can be carried out by anyone who has the desire to save STR DNA profile data as an emergency document in case needed in the future. We recommend this testing to individuals who have high-risk jobs and/or who travel frequently. This individual's DNA profile can also protect against a possible inheritance fraud.
Genos Laboratory is highly concerned about the chain of custody, to ensure that our DNA test results can be legally accountable. We have standardized operating procedures (SOP) aimed at maintaining the chain of custody. The chronology of sample collection to the release of DNA test results is well documented, including the interactions with the samples. Every individual/parties involved in DNA paternity testing is required to sign a DNA examination informed consent and DNA requisition form on a duty stamp, consciously and without coercion. Minors would be represented by a legal guardian.
Individual DNA profile testing carried out at the Genos Laboratory takes 5 working days from day one (the confirmation day of sample received).
